Hackers Infiltrate CD Projekt Red and Leave Ransom Note
Notable game development company CD Projekt Red (CDPR), famous for such games as The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, has recently been hacked for ransom.
CDPR made this incident public by releasing the ransom note and the company’s response on their twitter account.
Hackers infiltrated the company’s system and left a ransom note for them demanding CDPR to pay up, or they will release confidential information such as source codes, private documents, etc to the public and other interested parties.
“We will not give in to the demands nor negotiate with the actor (hackers), being aware that his may eventually lead to the release of the compromised data”

They have reassured the players that none of their personal data has been breached. This case is currently being handled by the authorities.
The ransom note appears to make some peculiar threats regarding the reputation of the company, which is currently worth $27.63 billion dollars.
“Your public image will go down the shitter even more and people will see how you shitty your company functions.”
CDPR has recently been under fire for releasing the much-hyped Cyberpunk 2077 in an extremely buggy form, making it barely playable on some platforms.
