In Pictures: Devastating Flash Flood Wrecks 280 Homes In Kathmandu
Every few years come monsoon time, Kathmanduites hear deadly stories of floods ravaging lives in remote parts of Nepal, especially the Terai region. We hear these stories and react to them from the cozy comfort of our Kathmandu homes.
This year, Kathmandu had to bear the brunt of it’s less-than-perfect urban planning. A sudden flash flood that took place Sunday night submerged 280 homes in different parts of the Valley. More than 130 people had to be rescued by Nepal’s security forces.
